Knowing about God and knowing God personally are two different things. You were created to know God personally and intimately. There is an empty place in each of us that only God can fill. The only thing that separates us from God is sin.
The good news is that God loves you so much that He personally removed the barrier that separated you from Him. He did that by sending His own Son to pay the penalty for our sins by dying on the cross. God proved His power over sin when He raised Jesus from the dead.
God has pursued man from the beginning. Sending Jesus to die for your sins was His idea. He desires to know you intimately. God wants us to live a life filled with His peace, joy, and awesome presence. He has made it very simple for us to have this freedom from sin. Romans 10: 9-10 says “If you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord’, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” Saved simply means freedom from the bondage of sin. God gives us the power to change and eternal salvation. Sometimes we think that we have to change before we can come to Him. But He will accept you as you are.
Sometimes we think “Well, I am a good person. Why do I need Jesus?” Ephesians 2: 8-9 says, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this is not from yourselves, it is a free gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast.” We don’t and can’t work our way to heaven. It is only by accepting the free gift of the sacrifice of His Son.
You can accept this free gift today! Right now, you can say to God, “Father, I ask You to forgive me of my sin, I confess that Jesus is Lord and that He was raised from the dead. Please fill me with your presence and joy. I give my life to you and I will turn from going my own way. Help me to live to please you. Thank you for my eternal salvation and for making me a new child of God!”
If you prayed this prayer sincerely and would like one of our Pastors to pray with you, or give you some booklets to bless your new faith, call us at the office, or see us after a church service.
